Nanosital is a synthetic gemstone material, a glass-ceramic crafted to resemble natural gems like sapphire, ruby, or topaz. Composed mainly of silicon dioxide and aluminum oxide—core minerals in many natural stones—it is produced in laboratories, often in Thailand and China, using a patented high-temperature process (approximately 1700°C). This yields a transparent, polycrystalline material with consistent color and clarity, free of natural inclusions. With a Mohs hardness of 7, it’s durable for jewelry, tougher than glass (5), but softer than corundum (9). Its refractive index (1.65–1.77) and specific gravity (3.5–4.0) mimic high-value gems, offering natural-looking brilliance and weight without cubic zirconia’s exaggerated sparkle. Nanostial is an excellent substitute for naturally colored gemstones. Tianyu Gems are available in 176 colors (152 standard and 24 color-changing colors) and remain color-stable upon heating. It can usually be wax mounted.
